Jim McCraw has been an automotive journalist for more than 35 years. He began his career at Super Stock then served as editor of Hot Rod Magazine from 1974-78. He became Executive Editor of Motor Trend from 1978-83. He managed product public relations for Ford Motor Company for eight years, then returned to the editorial side of the business as a full-time freelance writer in 1990. Jim has written for The New York Times, Popular Science, Popular Mechanics, European Car, Sports Car International, AutoWeek, the Cleveland Plain Dealer, The Washington Times, Drag Racing Monthly, Field & Stream, Automotive Industries, Automotive Business International, Engine Technology International and other publications. He lives in Dearborn, Michigan.
